My name is Julia. I’m a twenty-year-old writer/illustrator living in Japan.
I bought my first Art Alternatives sketchbook when I was 18, which I’d intended to use loosely for quick notes and checklists, but ended up becoming an important part of my development as a writer and artist, as I gradually discovered a creative and dynamic way to express myself. Writing and illustrating by hand has allowed me to translate my thoughts into something coherent and accessible. It’s also given me an opportunity to speak, to have a voice, and to connect with others. My goal as a writer is to create content that lingers with people, that reaches and speaks to them – including you, reader!
Though I do want to see my work in print one day, for now my sketchbook and Pilot G-2 will suffice.
